This interprofessional workshop held March 30-31, 2007 on best practices in the management of epilepsy in children and youth was presented in partnership with the BC Children's Hospital Department of Neurology. The case-based format included a panel group and discussions and provided the opportunity to build regional interprofessional team capacity for the implementation of provincial standards of care. Workshop themes were:

• Medical guidelines
• Parent, family and school education
• Management of learning difficulties in children with epilepsy
• Management of psychopathology in the child and family
• Social aspects to epilepsy
