The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at BC Children’s Hospital provides care for children who are critically ill. When your child is admitted to the PICU, they will be cared for by a team including physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists, as well as other allied health providers such as social workers, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. The resources to support patients and families admitted to the PICU are actively being developed and will be posted here soon. Until then, this video can serve as an introduction to the PICU at BC Children’s Hospital.
