Erica Koopmans is the Regional Coordinator for Northern Health where she supports Child Health BC initiatives in the region. Erica holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and a Master of Public Health from the University of British Columbia.
Prior to joining Child Health BC, Erica worked in health research and quality improvement project management. As a project coordinator at BC Children's Hospital, she supported a provincial quality improvement project focused on child and youth mental health care in BC emergency departments. In her research roles, Erica has focused on providing high quality health evidence contextualized to the needs and realities of program and service delivery in the northern BC setting. This has included developing local processes for structured knowledge synthesis services in northern BC and managing collaborative research projects between UNBC, the Northern Health authority, and community partners.
